How do I place an order?

Ordering through our website is really simple; once you’ve paid for your order you can upload your artwork directly online. Just follow the steps below to get started:

  •  Find the item you need from our ‘Products’ menu.
  • Use the drop downs to choose the specifications you would like and click ‘add to basket’.
  • Once you have everything in the basket that you need, click on the basket icon in the top, right corner of the screen.
  • Proceed to checkout and choose a delivery address. You’re now ready to upload your artwork!
  • Once the artwork has been sent we will send you an email with a link to your proof. We manually check all artwork and run a full pre-flight. When this has been approved we will proceed to print
How do I send my artwork?

Once you have paid for your order you will be able to upload your artwork in the ‘My Account’ area of the website.

We will need to set up a manual proof and so you must email your artwork directly to our studio team at artwork@ppmprint.com. In these cases, the order must be placed and the artwork received by 1pm to ensure that we can get a proof back to you by 5pm to approve.

If you would prefer to email the artwork to us for a manual proof anyway, place the order online as normal and pop an email through to artwork@ppmprint.com with your reference number (this will look like PPM-1234567).

Please note, if you request a manual proof after 1pm it can delay your order by 1 working day.

Which methods of payment does PPM Print offer?

We accept payment from all major credit and debit cards. You can also use PayPal for a quick and easy checkout.

Bank transfers and cash are alternative payment methods, these can be arranged over the phone, call 01925 767 106 to arrange these payments

What are the cut off times?

Our cut off time for approving proofs is 1pm for same day jobs. For any other turnarounds, you have right up until 3.00pm for approval. If you have approved all your proofs for all the jobs in your order by this time, we will be working to get your order to you by the estimated delivery dates shown on the website!

Can I make changes to my order once the artwork has been approved?

Due to the quick turnarounds that we offer, we are unable to make any changes to the artwork, or the order itself, once your artwork has been approved so please bear this in mind and check your proofs very carefully.

If your order hasn’t yet been approved and you need to make a change, don’t worry! We will be able to cancel your order so that you can place a new one with the amended information.

Artwork

What file types can I upload?

PDF or JPEG files are preferred but you can also upload TIFF, Illustrator (AI) and Photoshop (PSD) files.

Are there any file types that you can’t accept?

Unfortunately, we can’t accept PNG, Pages (mac), Publisher, SVG, WEB, .HTML, or GIF files.

What colour should my artwork be set up in?

All artwork must be supplied in CMYK. If your artwork is set up in a different format, such as RGB, then this will automatically convert out at the proofing stage which can vary the colour of your artwork.

How big should my files be?

The maximum size we would be able to accept is 200mb in total.

What resolution do I need to set my artwork up at?

For small format jobs, such as flyers and business cards we would advise the resolution to be 300dpi minimum. Large format jobs such as posters and roller banners should be 150dpi minimum and for PVC banners we would advise 75 – 150 dpi.

What does the red line on my proof mean?

The red line marks the safety area. We will make the final cut 3mm outside of this at the blue cut line shown at the edge of your proof. We recommend that all important text and images are inside the red line so that they’re not at risk of being cut.

Can you explain what ‘Proofing detected a potential issue with your artwork’ means?

When you upload your artwork, we manually check your artwork and us a proofing tool that will check it over to ensure it is good to go. Issues can range from resolution to the colours that your artwork is set up in. For example, if your artwork is set up in RGB, we will let you know that he has detected a colour issue. If you are happy with the colour it has converted to, that’s not a problem – you are fine to approve your artwork. However, we would advise that you double check this.

I’m not sure that my proof looks right, what should I do?

If you’re not happy with your proof(s), please do not approve. Please get in contact to speak to our studio team, outlining your issue and we can take a look at what we can do to help.

What should I check my proof for?

Checking proofs is a vital part of the print process. When checking over your proofs, please download the file on to your desktop and check to make sure you are happy to receive this in the final product.

We’d advise to double check the below:

  • Colour – make sure that your colours are consistent throughout and there haven’t been any changes. Setting your artwork up in CMYK should prevent this from happening.
  • Spelling and grammar
  • Orientation
  • Missing text
  • Any boxes/lines that shouldn’t be there
  • Page numbers and running order

Please take note of any warnings that are given and only approve when you are happy to go ahead!

Do I need an imprint on election material?

Yes. When you are purchasing election material to be used to promote a candidate, a political party or a category of candidates in an election you have a legal duty to include on the artwork an imprint containing the name and address of the printer, the promoter of the material and any person on behalf of whom the material is being published (and who is not the promoter).

Our address for use on any imprint is: Publicity Print Marketing Ltd, 415b Warrington Road, Culcheth, Warrington, WA3 5SW. You can however elect to use your own details if you have an in-house print facility.
